Kindergarten Uses Their NEW GAFE Accounts
Kindergartners were overjoyed at the opportunity to have access to their GAFE accounts. With the help of older students, Kindergarten students learned to access their accounts, add the Google Classroom Google App, and complete an assignment from their teacher using Google Drawing posted in Google Classroom.

Students Introduced to Mackin Via
During class library time, students were introduced to Mackin Via with a cooperative lesson from the Librarian, Ms. Williams and ITS, Ms. Torres. Ms. Torres reviewed with primary grade levels how to log on the computer using their individual computer credentials and how to navigate to the Library Resources on the school website. Ms. Williams then oriented students on how to navigate Mackin Via and check out e-books.

Here First Grader Gavin and his cousins Alyssa and Gabriel teach you how to make a healthy smoothie! The family created the video at home and uploaded to our DFT School Tube account. See if you can learn from their home cooking show! Vote for Gavin on his School Tube Video at http://bit.ly/rqyuBj

Seasons Graphic Organizer

One at a time, each first grader in Mrs. Grimes's class would use the class computer and the Kidspiration template- Seasons to make their own graphic organizer. Students chose pictures to drag over to season boxes. Students would also choose and drag a text box to the season box and type words about the season. This was a great way to mesh Science TEKS and Technology TEKS. When the student finished, they each navigated to their individual student folder on the server to save their work!

Nov. 2010 "I am Thankful" Class Photo Story.
Each student in Ms. Grimes 1st grade class used Photo Story 3 to make a slide for a class video. For their slide, they selected clip art from Microsoft Word and would drag it to the slide. They then typed one sentence on something they are thankful about. They manipulated the font for type, size and color. After each student completed a slide, we explore the music samples on Photostory and voted on our background music. We watched our video after our Thanksgiving feast with some of our parents.
