4th Graders Research Lonestar Heros Using BYOD, Dell Venues, and Campus Computers

Students in 4th grade are researching Lonestar Heros as part of a multi-week project.  Students utilized the research function in Google Docs to supplement their research of their person.  The Research function allows students to search for information and images and then cites the source for them as a footnote.  Several students brought their own device to use in class which helped increase the device to student ratio so that more students could work on their project at school. Students in the Next Gen classroom were able to use their Dell Venue tablets to work on their projects as well.

Math scavenger hunt

Mrs. Wozny's 4th grade class went on digital scavenger hunt. Students used a QR Code scanner to scan the QR Code to find their next clue.  They then had to find the next item and take a picture of a real world example of the term.

Teachers use Kahoot for assessing learning

4th and 5th grade classes were being assessed using an online assessment tool called Kahoot.  Teacher's enter questions and then display the question for the class to answer using their devices. Student's can use any internet accessible device. This was a great way for Mrs. Small's 5th grade students to Bring Their Own Device and onboard them to the district network.  Mrs. Wozny's 4th grade students were able to use their Dell Venues as part of the district NGDC pilot.
