4th grade students still benefit from teacher in her absence

While the teacher was away, students were still able to focus on academics.  The teacher video a lesson on how to create a Patty Paper "protractor" and how to use the new tool while she was away from the classroom.  This allowed the substitute to pause the video when students needed extra time and to rewind for students to hear the information again using the vocabulary and concepts of the classroom teacher.

Art students exploring Africa

4th and 5th grade students used Google Earth and the website Our Africa to explore art, landforms, and life in Africa to be inspired with their Ugly Doll or Sockpuppet creations. Student's Ugly Doll or Sock Puppet will then be donated to the Austin Children's Shelter or Helping Hand Home for Children.
